Commitment to Our Patients

1.      We shall always treat our patients with dignity and respect--in body, mind and spirit.

2.      We shall enable our patients to live as fully and as normally as possible for the rest of their lives.

3.      We shall help our patients maintain hope and have those who care for them also maintain a sense of hopefulness.

4.      We shall answer our patient’s questions clearly and honestly.

5.      We will encourage our patients to express their feelings about their illness, and to approach death in their own way.

6.      We shall ensure that our patients are free of pain.

7.      We will provide spiritual support, respecting our patient’s spiritual concepts and experiences.

8.      We care for our patients with competence and sensitivity, and honor their needs and desires.

9.      We shall not allow a patient to die alone.

10. We shall provide help and support to the loved ones in dealing with our patient’s passing.

11. We shall respect our patient’s choices regarding their death, and the disposition of their body.
